My name is Lynda and I am the owner of artfulquilts and I love colour! I have been sewing since my mother taught me the basics when I was a young child. More recently my good friend, Judy, introduced me to the world of computerized sewing machines and quilt making. Quilting has become a passion. Art has been an important part of my life for many years, so it only seemed logical to combine my love of colour, sewing and quilting to design and create one-of-a-kind quilted items such as art quilts, lap quilts, cushions, and anything else that's quilted.
I am a retired orthodontist and an active gardener, dog lover, choir member, and occasional watercolour and acrylic artist. I had a custom framing and art business (ARTFUL custom framing & art) for sixteen years. Website design is also an interest for me and I have been the webmaster for a variety of small businesses, including Yorkie breeders, artists and a local community group.
I hope you enjoy my creations. New designs are popping!
My quilt "O Canada, eh?" was accepted into the juried show at QuiltCon2017 in Savannah.
Its next appearance was at Quilts at the Creek at Blackcreek Pioneer Village Toronto.
